Wow!!! What a Summer!!!

We've weathered the storm... literally. The summer was busy and I'm still recovering. I'm trying to muster my way back to normalcy. Recovery and normalcy... that might be a hard one to achieve. I always fear summer break a little, the unpredictability gets to me, but this summer topped all the rest.

Highlights of the summer:

6 weeks of poison ivy

Introduction to Photography class

I became the Mom of a detasseler (I feel a little bit more like a native Iowan now)

Destruction from the July 19th tornado (no one was injured but we are still waiting on our roof repair)

Vacation to Bend, Oregon

Of course, family matters always spring up when we least expect them, creating more chaos

Rain and more rain. The house stayed dry. The original part of the shop did not, but nothing that

couldn't be dried out over a few days time.

But we are tough and we are strong. We push through the issues, the damage, the unease and hopefully learn a few lessons in the meantime. All I can say is, I hope you had a better summer than I did. While it wasn't all bad AND it could have been worse, I don't want another one like it!

So in the time since my last post, I've done a lot of thinking and strategizing. It's amazing how priorities can shift in an instant. Sometimes we need a jolt to stop us in our tracks to recalibrate. I hope I've come up with a good plan for the future. Right now I want to get back into the swing of fall!
